Annual Animal Rescue & Care
Purpose and Objectives
Rescue and treat abandoned, injured, sick, or abused animals, reducing unnecessary suffering and preventable deaths.
Provide ongoing care, rehabilitation, and, where possible, permanent shelter or adoption for animals that cannot survive on the streets.
Promote humane attitudes, animal rights awareness, and responsible pet/community animal management in the wider public.
Core Rescue and Medical Services
24/7 or on‑call rescue response for street animals in distress—accidents, illnesses, cruelty cases, and abandonment.
Veterinary treatment, first aid, surgery, post‑operative care, and hospitalization as needed, including quarantine and special wards.
Animal Birth Control (ABC) and vaccination drives (anti‑rabies, deworming) to control populations humanely and improve community health.
Shelter, Rehabilitation, and Adoption
Operation of shelters/hospices for blind, disabled, elderly, or permanently unfit‑for‑street animals, providing food, medical care, and safe living space.
Rehabilitation programs for recoverable animals, including socialization and behavior support before rehoming.
Adoption drives and counselling to place rescued dogs, cats, and other domestic animals into responsible, loving homes.
Community Engagement and Education
Awareness campaigns on compassion toward animals, legal protections, cruelty reporting, and the importance of sterilization and vaccination.
Guidance for communities on feeding street animals responsibly, arranging water, and preventing conflicts (biting incidents, traffic risks, etc.).
Training and support for volunteers, students, and animal lovers in rescue basics, first aid, and ethical animal handling.
Legal, Advocacy, and Conflict Resolution
Assistance in addressing human–animal conflict issues through mediation, legal awareness, and, where necessary, representation or complaints under animal‑welfare laws.
Advocacy for stronger enforcement of anti‑cruelty provisions, better municipal practices, and humane management of street animals.
Collaboration with authorities and other NGOs to standardize rescue and shelter practices using recognized welfare standards.
Annual Cycle and Special Campaigns
Year‑round rescue and care work, with specific annual campaigns such as mass sterilization, anti‑rabies vaccination weeks, or monsoon/festival‑season safety drives.
Periodic fundraising appeals and CSR partnerships to sustain medical costs, shelter operations, and expansion of services each year.
Annual reporting on number of rescues, surgeries, adoptions, and outreach activities to demonstrate impact and accountability.
Expected Outcomes
Fewer animals suffering unaddressed injuries or illnesses on the streets, and more humane, organized community animal management.
Increased numbers of animals rehabilitated and adopted into safe homes, especially those who are disabled, elderly, or otherwise vulnerable.
